They are omnivores and scavenger. They like starch, sugary foods, grease and meats. Oriental Cockroach

The total length of this roach can be 1.25 inches. They have wings but can not fly. The adults are very dark brown or nearly black. They can often be found around decaying organic matter, and in sewers, drains, damp basements, porches, and other damp locations. They can be found outside in bushes, under leaf groundcover, under mulch, and around other damp places outdoors. Cockroaches are mainly nocturnal. Oriental cockroaches can be elusive in that a casual inspection of an infested dwelling during the day may show no signs of roach activity.
Asian
Asian roach is most common and they are similar to the German roach but are different in behaviour. They prefer to infest shaded and moist areas in the landscape, grassy areas and ground covers. and typically become most active just at dusk. Adults will fly quite readily and for long distances. They also are known to fly to lights at night. So Bright lights should be eliminated with possible yellow lights as a control measure.

Cockroaches have incomplete metamorphosis. Most species of cockroaches lay eggs in an ootheca (egg case) that is either deposited on or under a suitable substrate or carried attached to the genital region.
